Yesterday was day 1 of World Scholar's Cup. We arrived here the day before and stayed at the Tunku Kurshiah College. Damn, it is huge!
Today we had collaborative writing in which I chose Special Area. We were given 6 main topics beforehand. When I say 6, I mean there are 100 subtopics so I obviously did not study everything but I just went with the flow.
Then, we had the Scholar's Challenge. There were 120 objective questions. Since I didn't study, I just chose the answer which sounded 'nice' ahah.
The best part was debate. Trust me, I was so nervous as I had never experienced debating before. My teammates consist of Asyrine, da sassy boy and Amir. It was supposed to be Afeez but the WSC people didn't take our original teams into account and made up their own groupings. I think my team did pretty great. I was the first speaker. We had to do 3 rounds. First round was, "This House Believes That We Should Be Encouraged To Take Selfies." We were the government and we won. We were against MRSM Pendang and they were good as well! :)
The second round was "Secrets can Unite A Society." We were the opposing team and we were against MRSM Pengkalan Chepa. Surprisingly we won, alhamdulillah.
The final round was "THBT The Good of The Many Outweighs The Good of The Few." We were against Sri Utama International Schools. I met with this dude who was originally from Korea. They were all really friendly! We were the government team. Basically we didn't fully comprehend the motion but oh well I'm just here to have fun. Selfies can be seen above!
Overall, first day was indeed fun! I gained so much confidence after participating in this competition especially the debate.
I have also gotten my exam results. Alhamdulillah, it was alright, albeit my huge downfall in Chemistry and Civics brought down my pointer but it's not that bad for my first semester exam.
Bye!
