Family is everything

Today was the last day for me to be with Hana, my 5-year old female cousin. Before I left to go on a shopping spree, I said to her goodbye. I don't think she truly understood what it means. But we managed to take a polaroid photo together, along with my other cousin, Hazim. After taking the photo, Hazim immediately gave me a huge hug. It was very endearing for me because I always thought he didn't really want to play with me because he's always with his iPad all the time. But I was touched regardless. I love my cousins dearly, I'm going to miss them the most, to be honest. Because as the year passes by, they will grow up and they won't want my company as much as they do now. Because they are the closest thing I could get to having siblings, because knowing that being loved by Hazim is like knowing what it's like to have a male company. The closest thing I could get is my grandfather, which I am so so grateful. Sometimes, I realise, family is indeed everything and that is the only thing I need.
