a 2am post + female-centric movies and shows you have to watch

6:31 PM

I remembered posting a story about watching Black Mirror for the first time.

It was season 5, featuring Andrew Scott. A guy slid into my DMs and said "is that Black Mirror?' and I said, "yes, it is sooooo good!!"

Then I watched other episodes of Black Mirror, and realised how shit Season 5 is.

No wonder that was the last time I heard from him.

Anyways, hi guys! My first post of 2020 whoop! I feel like a teenager ending all my sentences in a blog with exclamation marks!! But I'm turning 22 this year, ugh I'm old.

I was quite busy for the past two weeks because I was writing out my assignment. Honestly, I think I'm doing alright in terms of time management. Yes it was stressful and I sacrificed my work-life balance but my deadline is tomorrow but I've proofread my work at least 50 times, have shown the draft and have gotten the green light from my lecturer, which gives me some comfort, and I am ready to send it off. Of course, I will read it over and over until the deadline but I think I want to talk about shows that I've watched, and will definitely recommend you readers to watch it as well!

1. On The Basis of Sex

I watched it while I was on my way back from Malaysia to the UK the other day. It is about a female lawyer who fought her way to amending the law that discriminates women. I hope that didn't give too much away.

2. Little Women

Ah, Little Women. Okay, so this is going to put me into shame among all my reader friends; I have not read Little Women. Or at least, the full version.

But in a way that's good because now I get to watch the movie without knowing the ending. I was told that they did alter the ending so I can still enjoy reading the book if I want to.

I don't really have things to write bcs my 2am mind isn't thinking very well, but please go watch this movie. Jo March is my spirit animal, honestly I aspire to be like her. Thank you Louisa May Alcott for this wonderful character.

3. Fleabag

HOLY SHIT guys, this show is super funny. I really do love TV shows that are over 20 minutes and only has a few episodes. Season 2 is my favourite! I love how Phoebe Waller-Bridge's mind works! She's funny, creative and overall and enjoyment to watch! My favourite line from Fleabag is

"I sometimes worry I wouldn't be such a feminist if I had bigger t*ts."

Honestly paint that on my wall or something! A lot of the issues raised in the show makes you think and you really get to see it from Fleabag's POV, on how women are used etc. I will definitely recommend readers (above 18) to watch this show.

Alright, that's it from me! Wish me luck for my assignments, please pray that I'll get good results for this. I genuinely need it.
