This is probably going to be a short post because I've got to get back to work after this.
Long story short, I asked my crush out for a swim!
Ahh it took me so long to finally ask him out. I know he's busy or whatever so I didn't want to bother him. And he did say he looked forward to swim with me, so I was waiting for him to ask me out. My mom kept pestering me about asking him out too, but due to past experience, I was afraid that it was going to turn awry.
But I think it drove me into a state where I was overthinking too much, and at one point I wanted to do nothing but ask him out. But before I did, I went on a Google vortex on girls asking guys out, and this article blows my freaking mind.
"Maybe my teenage friends were right in one way: Some guys do judge women who make the first move. But those aren't the guys I want to date. I want to date guys who appreciate assertive women — and who err on the side of not coming on too strong themselves, because they're conscious about potentially coming off creepy."
"If we want to empower girls to go after what they want, encouraging them to ask their crush out is one great place to start."
I loved everything about this article, and before I asked him out, I even prayed my Maghrib first hahaha and prayed to God that if he is meant for me, as of now, then please let him say yes, if he is not, please let him say no, and let me heal throughout this process.
I pressed the send button to the message I drafted earlier, I didn't look at the phone instantly because my phone goes on a Do Not Disturb mode after 6pm.
Imagine to my surprise when 4 minutes later, I checked my phone and he actually replied immediately after I sent that text and said yes to the hangout sesh! He also gave me an update on his life since I'm in the loop of his life, I was so honoured that I'm even considered as being 'in his loop'.

Anyways, I'm so glad I no longer have to overthink. Because I imagine that if I kept on doing so, I will miss out on hanging out with this awesome person, and I only have a few months left here, so I might as well make it count.
