Things I learnt from people
7:36 PMI learn a lot from observing people, my interactions with them, knowing their life journey and witnessing their ups and downs. This will probably be a recurring theme.
I learn to never seek for a man for their looks,
because that's only the surface,
what matters is what's in his heart,
is he genuine? does he truly care for you?
if it's one-sided, don't be afraid to leave.
Never stay with a man for their money,
Some people start off penniless,
and work their way through,
and you are there to support him every step of the way,
and yet when he is successful,
when he has all the money in the world,
he finds someone else,
making him forget it was you who put up with him from rags to riches.
Behind every successful man is a woman, they said,
as much as you'd like to take credit, don't,
let him go,
because the hard pill to swallow is that,
he won't ever look back.
Never marry a man out of lust,
because lust won't last forever,
what's ever lasting is your love to each other,
if there's even an ounce of it,
because if you do love each other,
you'd work it out,
you won't leave each other spiritually,
because once you do,
everyone else around you would have to pick up the pieces,
and they can only take so much,
until they leave too.
Never stay in a relationship,
Once you find out they've got another,
It is never too late to get out,
You'll be fine,
You'll stay strong,
because in the end,
you reap the outcome,
and god, it will be so beautiful.
Instead,
Find someone who makes time for you,
find someone whom you can run to,
and lean your head onto his shoulder,
as both of you watch TV together,
find someone who laughs at your dry jokes,
find someone who tolerates with you,
and instead of aggressively trying to change you,
he'd say, "we'll work on this together."
and won't leave if you relapse,
because if he truly loves you,
he will put up a fight.
and if you can't find anyone that fits your mould,
it's okay,
enjoy being by yourself,
enjoy that singularity so much,
that you don't depend your happiness on anyone else,
even when life takes you down,
even when your brain can no longer think,
because by being yourself,
by being kind,
you will find that there will be people around you,
who looks after you because they want to,
and that you'd never take them for granted.
I learn to keep those moments in photographs,
people may think its an exhibition to the world,
but it is for me,
when I look back,
I think of all the good things people have done for me,
when they really don't have to,
but they did anyway,
because when my mind no longer exists,
these pictures are proof,
that life is always worth living,
but for now,
enjoy your own company,
and live your best life,
surrounded by those who truly love you,
and never, ever, take them for granted.
