Inter-school Choral Speaking Competition District Level 2013
6:18 AM
On the 21st of February 2013, I had this golden opportunity to represent the school for choral speaking competition. It's in SEGi college and we were the 8th team our of 19 school which was perfect because people won't be too ecstatic or too bored. At first I was like "omg I hope I don't screw up" and at 4 a.m I was practicing choral speaking in my head and I was like "omg what's next?". And so when we were there, we watched all the competitors before us and most of them were good but their time was either too short or too long. We were getting nervous as it got nearer to our turn. I had to go to the toilet to warm myself up because the cold temperature did not help to reduce the butterflies around my stomach. And so it was our turn and I forgot to do some things we're supposed to do (but realized that at the end of the choral speaking). I could see my high cheekbones stammer as I recite the choral speaking but all that worrying ended when the first bell rung (first bell means it passed 8 minutes) and the total time for our choral speaking is 9 minutes 51 seconds. 9 MINUTES AND 51 FREAKING SECONDS. 9 more seconds and we're out. The other schools did great too. I was scared that SMK Bandar Sri Damansara would beat us they were good too.
Best conductor was Mitra, which is our conductor. We were like "aaah". You see we were professionals at first but we became hooligans afterwards.
So when they announced they said third place was SMKKJ and then they were like "oh, semua orang kadangkala buat kesalahan bla bla bla" and so third place was CHS. I pitied the Kelana Jaya school though they actually lined up and my friend even said hi to me. Anyway, when they announced second place, my heart beats faster and when they announced the first place they went "*i didn't hear anything else i just heard they say* SMK (P) SRI AMAN" And all of us were standing up in synchronization and started hugging each other and I literally had no words to utter so I was just up there smiling as widely as I can.
Ah, is this real life? Things have been looking up.
P.S. This might be my last post until after March Test. So, adios :)
