Room Declutter + Tour

6:33 AM

Hello! So this post will not be word-heavy; instead I will have more pictures instead of texts because I haven't done that for a while.

Let's start!

The photos above are what my room looks like once I've cleaned it, so let's have a look of what it'll look like when I *dont* clean it up. (Walk of shame commences)

It's the weekend and what happened was that I did my morning prayers and left my prayer mat there. The day before, I had a very impromptu charity dinner so right after my study session I dumped my bag on the bed and chose some options for my clothes, so underneath my prayer clothes you can see some of the rejected options for my dinner.

As I said, I was in a rush so I took out my luggage of rarely used clothes and hijabs

Clearly I am a pathetic excuse for a living, what is this lmao. My notes for the music theatre competition are on the floor and there's a random nandos sauce on my drawer??

I may have exaggerated the mess but this is what it's like when you're always on the go and you're barely at home to clean stuff up. My house is a place for me to sleep, shower and cook. Nothing else. So this is the result. That's when I realise THIS is the reason why I'm always clumsy, it ALL started with me abandoning my responsibilities as a person to be TIDY.

When you're in this hurricane-look alike mess, what do you do?

First, you list out your routines.

Then, you follow your list and sort out your laundry.

Since I have a lot of laundry (yes, this is a week's worth of laundry, I wear THAT many clothes) I categorize them and separate them based on colours. You should avoid mixing white clothes with other colours because it's gonna be baaaaad. One time, I've mixed my coloured clothes with my white/bright-coloured clothes and after I got them out of the machine, they had stains all over :(

Time: 4 hours+

After that, I make my bed (I usually make my bed in the morning but this is an exception because issa weekend) and clear the side of my bed.

So I've piled my unwanted clothes back into my luggage (notice that I've said piled not folded) and packed for my Lake District trip. I honestly felt bad that I've only piled them, but that robbery happened, and the burglars snatched the zips of the luggage thinking that there were cash there (there was) but saw a pile of clothes instead so they didn't take anything. Little did they know that there were valuable items in the centre of the pile, hence this was one of the moments where I was glad I am not super tidy. I'm obviously changing the place where I keep my valuable items though.

I was cleaning up my bookcase and vanity area when my lovely housemate popped by. Isn't she a cutie?

So I've also sorted out my vanity area and cleaned my brushes. Please note that if you wear makeup, it's crucial to wash your brushes on a weekly basis, especially since your skin is prone to dirt.

Then, I've tidied my study table (I prefer calling it my working table because I barely ever study here and vacummed my whole room. So here is the result:

I'm really happy as to how it turned out. Cleaning my room is therapeutic though time-consuming, but its a good way to destress, so if you don't have anything to do in weekend, do take time cleaning up :)
